West Coast Christmas

Saturday was a great day. Matt, his friend, and I went skiing at Crystal again. And it was a fresh Northwest Powder day.

We had a great time, with only one near death experience, in which my back country binding released into tour mode and I slid on my stomach toward Matt. After my body stopped sliding, I had to pop my ski off,  put the binding back into the proper setting, then put it back on, all while doing a side plank on an extremely steep chute..

We squeezed in a few more runs after we thought we were done. It was just that good Saturday.

Then we went inside to enjoy a beer at the end of the day.

^my helmet, matt's helmet ^

Once we made it through the snow and down the mountain, we arrived at Matt and Cyndi's to a wonderful Christmas spread! Cyndi had dinner and brand new comfy Christmas pants for us :)

After a great dinner we exchanged gifts and enjoyed a fire, while reviewing some crazy events from skiing and our plans for the future.

Christmas cards from friends :)

It's been really nice being near Matt and Cyndi.  I'm also starting to really enjoy my co-workers. Makes me a tiny bit sad that I'm leaving in 3 weeks, but... it's time.

While I've applied for a few staff positions in the Pittsburgh area, I'm not expecting to know where I'll be working next for a while.  Initially I thought I wanted to switch from ICU, but these past few shifts have reminded me why I love critical care. A few of the RNs I work with are also trying to convince me not to leave ICU, they've been really encouraging.

Ohhmy, but I'm ready to be home again. One more shift, then Wednesday I'll be hopping on a plane to come home to PA for a week.  Then it's back to WA for two weeks, followed by a drive across country.

Busy, busy, but loving it. I'm ready to see my family soon, and I'll be ready when I see what God has for me next.

Enjoy the snow, and see you soon :)
