Today started off as many of our mornings here have, with Jamba Juice. With smoothies (plus an immunity boost to ward off Ashley's cold) in hand, we headed to Santa Monica, to meet up with a traveler that I met in the hospital last week. Her name is Emily, and today she was going on a hike with a few other travelers she's gotten to know over the years.
We went to The Palisades.
It's a small (but big) mountain range in Santa Monica. Almost the entire hike (approx 5 miles) has an incredible view of the Pacific Ocean, Santa Monica Bay, Catalina Island, Los Angeles, and Malibu, and so much more.
It was about 50-60 degrees when we started, but with the direct sun we were workin' up a sweat.
The top has a large area with benches to rest with a great view.
After the hike we grabbed lunch in Santa Monica and then parted ways. For the evening, Ashley and I drove back to Malibu to watch the sunset.
We made it just in time.
Then we ran around, did cart wheels, and chased waves like little kids.
It's been a month since I left Indiana. It feels like so much longer, this month has been so full. It's been incredible. Even though at times I can get homesick and miss everyone, I'm enjoying it so much. I feel very blessed and very lucky.
May you all feel blessed in everything you do, as well. Goodnight :)
