The Getty

Most of my adventures have come from suggestions made by people I've met here.  Today I followed someone's advice and went to The Getty, in the Santa Monica Mountains. It's an art museum that has free admission, so of course I went!

A picture is worth a thousand words, right?  Well this post I'll be writing mostly in pictures.  So get ready, cause it's going to get wordy..

To get to the museum from the parking garage (or bus stop, which I came from) you ride a tram up this hillside.  It provides a beautiful view of LA, Century City, and the Santa Monica Bay.

LA is off to the left in the way distance, Century City is closer in the middle/left, SantaMonica Bay is off to the right

Can you imagine what this could look like without the smog?

I think I enjoyed walking around the museum and going on the architecture tour more than the exhibits inside.

The architect is Richard Meier, and he is still alive and works in New York City.  Anyone looking to rebuild their house? Perhaps he is available...

Southern California is beautiful.  That's an understatement.

The people of SoCal are entertaining as well, but in a different way..

Goodnight ;)
