But as usual, we continue with our adventures. Saturday we went into Seattle for the afternoon.
The original Starbucks is in Pike Place. It always has a tremendous line, but live music to help pass the time. Even if they didn't we would've gone because Ashley was so excited to see it.
Sunday was a little harder to get going. The rain was persistent, the Steelers were losing, and we just couldn't decide on plans. So we settled on a movie, then a drive through the Christmas lights at Spanaway park. These were my faves -
After the tour, Matt and Cyndi met us at my apt for a little family fire on the West Coast.

We were sad to discuss what little time I have left to spend with Matt and Cyndi before I move back East..
Only four weekends til I move, and one will be spent in PA for Christmas.

Today was a fun day!
Ashley, Cyndi, and I ventured into Astoria, OR, which though humble in appearance, is quite famous for being featured in several films.
Our main attraction was the stuff from The Goonies.
Remember the jail from the beginning? (one of the bad brothers escapes from it and lights a fire)
We were pretty excited to see it, and they welcome tourists to take pictures and look at the outside. But we were shocked to find the flag upside down. Cyndi had a good point though, that part of being in a free country is being able to publicly display your opinion, even if it's disapproval with the government. So even though it's disconcerting to see, it's the owner's right to display it..
We drove through the town and saw other famous sites and whatnot, then we found ourselves at the highest point in town, at the Astoria Column. This was my favorite part of the day :)
164 spiral stairs to the top for a great view of the Pacific Ocean.

We stopped in town at this garish but fabulous cupcake place that used to be a bank.
Does that make sense? Oh well.. we left and came back to WA anyway :)
We have tomorrow, then Wednesday Ashley flies back to DC (which I hear has been quite gray lately as well)
The forecast for tomorrow is cloudy, rainy, and temperatures in the 40s, but don't worry! We have fun planned despite the rain :)
