We woke up and spent a lot of the morning just hanging out in the apartment. Then headed to Target to purchase some Christmas decorations. At first we went to the one closest to me, which is in a huge shopping plaza. Bad idea. Tons of parking lot traffic! We both had forgotten that today is one of the biggest shopping days of the year. PS Target has amazing stuff in their dollar section!
Then we journeyed to Malibu. Our plan was to drive the PCH north until we found a place for lunch that was on the coast. We stopped at this great place called Moonshadows. We asked for a table on the balcony and this is what we got -
When we got our meal the waiter said, "watch out for birds". He was serious. Not more than 5 minutes after we started eating a seagull swooped in, without landing, and took some of our calamari. It was so fast we didn't even have time to react until he was gone. This balcony is just a long countertop with bar stools overlooking the ocean. No glass or windows, just you and the sky.
The food was delicious and the view was incredible.
Next we drove to a tent set up in Woodland Hills selling Bennett's Best Christmas Trees.
They had Douglas Fir trees and Silver Tip Trees. They were brought in from Oregon.
After searching through rows of trees, I found a little 4'5" Douglas Fir. It fit right in the back of my car.
The rest of the evening we spent doing crafts, decorating, and listening to Christmas music. We also watched Elf.
This Christmas I will be working at the hospital. This will be my first away from home..
Now it feels a little more cozy.
