Open and Enclosed Spaces

Today I explored Green Mountain Open Space, which is a short drive from my apartment.  It's a beautiful open area (as the name suggests) covered with a web of trails.

Thinking I'd avoid the heat by starting early, I was proven wrong when it was a warm 84 degrees at 830 in the direct morning sun, and climbing.

Hey look, there's Denver.

The better part of my afternoon was spent reading by the pool, but I was soon chased back indoors by ominous clouds.

Speaking of the indoors.. here's a look at my apartment.

After walking up to the third floor and entering through a boring brown door with a tiny peep hole, you walk into the living room.

the TV is on the opposing wall, next to the fireplace (which is out of use until they lift the fire ban)

The view from the balcony.

Next to the living room is the kitchen/dining area.

Down a small narrow hallway is the washer/dryer in a closet, a linen closet, and a bathroom.

My room is also down the hall and has a nice walk in closet.

The decorations and carpet aren't my style, but I don't really have any complaints about the place.  The people so far seem to be pretty friendly.  The guy who lives below me let me borrow a great hiking guide to Colorado's 14ers, which I can't wait to put to use.

Tomorrow I start in the ICU (yes, I do work, not just explore all the time), which I'm both excited and really nervous about. Let's see how the next few days pan out.. Enjoy the end of the weekend!
