The summit is 14,264 ft which makes this mountain part of the famous 14ers in Colorado.
Before I went to the top I stopped at the Ranger's station to get some trail maps and my day pass. The lady working was so excited to show me trails and mountains I should visit while I'm here. She even rated them based on difficulty to help me work up to the harder trails. When she told me that they had spotted mountain goats earlier in the day she was giggling with excitement.
I had a similar reaction when I saw them too. Did you know they are quite ragged and gnarly looking?

This mountain is also famous for having the highest paved road in North America. The road stops just short of the summit where you can park your car and hike to the top.
Once I reached the tip top, I hiked along the ridge to the peak pictured below.
The path was pretty rocky and hiking at that altitude can be breathtaking.
At one point I heard this funny sound and turned around to see a murder of crows. At first it was the sound of their wings that caught my attention, then I heard them cawing.
It may be difficult to see them in the video, but could ya here 'em?
Back down the mountain there is more hiking and exploring. This trail was through a forest of Bristlecone Pine, which are thought to be the oldest living organisms.
Even though the forest was only at 11,000 some feet, it was still difficult at times to catch my breath while hiking. So I'd just take a seat and enjoy the view.
