Back in the day people used this beach as a dumping ground. Eventually the waves broke down the glass and created enough sea glass that totally covered the beach. People started to take notice and the beach became a historic landmark.
A little ways down the coast was a light house.
The clouds rolled in and it became pretty chilly. But the views were still gorgeous.
The white slug looking thing on that coast is a seal. We stood watching these seals for a while. You know they're really lazy? They just laid there while the waves crashed over them. One of them was swept away b a wave that rolled up and pulled him off of the rock. Then he just kind of floated away with the current.
We went out to dinner at a local place on the marina.
We had so much fun and laughed pretty much all day.
Monday morning stated early (4 am) as we headed toward Bodega.
First we showed up at a Bait n Tackle place..
Then we boarded the Sea Angler.
Let me explain what I thought I was getting into when Ashley told me that we were going fishing.
I thought we would be spending the day in the beautiful sunshine aboard a big fancy white yacht. I planned on sunbathing and reading books while drinking beer with my friends and watching them fish..
Needless to say I was way off.
This was a fishing boat.
Not a luxury yacht.
Once I got over the initial shock I realized that I could still enjoy the day on the boat, despite the rocking waves and fishy smells..
Dan and Ashley did the fishing, and I was just along for the ride.
Careful while you watch these videos.. the boat was very rocky that day..
The guy talking in this video was the Captain of the vessel, Rick Powers. Listen as he talks about how great this catch is..
Guess who snagged two fish that day...
Fisherman Ashley Marie!!!
Even though the sun was shining, it was actually quite a chilly day. I.e. No sunbathing...
Yours truly, somehow, did not even get queasy!
Out of all the people fishing that day, not too many caught fish, but we were lucky enough to take home some fresh Pacific Ocean Salmon.
After an hour long gypsy nap in my car I worked a 12hr night shift.
The next morning I took a quick snooze at my friend Leah's apartment. In the afternoon we all met up for touring wineries in Sonoma County.
We had a great dinner in Santa Rosa, then I said goodbye to everyone and started another 12hr shift.
Dan left early the next morning, and we were sad to see him go. We had so much fun while he was visiting.
