time off and a geography lesson.

Working three days a week is beautiful, because having four days off is exquisite.

Tuesday was the first of three days off in a row this week. So I explored a local park, Bradley Lake.

I got a kaleidoscope from Target.. and maybe I took it to the park, so what.

The park was kind of crowded, but people were really friendly. Everyone was out with their kids or their dogs. When talking to one of the guys fishing, I commented on the amount of people. He answered simply, "the sun's out".

Well it stayed out, and Wednesday I went into Seattle for the afternoon.

It was a beautiful day in the city. Keurig was giving away free coffee, and it was the coolest thing. There were homeless people, professionals, students, policemen, and etc. All hanging out under a tent, discussing coffee and the unusually sunny day.

So I did some shopping, got lunch, and wandered through Pike Place Market.

In the evening I made a fire.

Today I completed some errands, cleaned my apartment, then went out to coffee and grocery shopping with some girls from my church. I discovered they like grocery shopping together because they are all vegan, and by going together they help each other in deciphering what is appropriate, and what isn't. This I discovered after I filled my grocery basket with yogurt, butter, and other animal by-products..

However, they did convince me to start juicing wheat grass.

People that know me well, know that know that my sense, or knowledge rather, of geography is quite inadequate.

It's as if the world is a rough sketch of geography. I know where things are relatively, but it's an inaccurate mish-mash of boundaries. That's part of what I have loved about traveling. I hate saying this, but prior to leaving PA, the rest of the US was like apparitions of states and highways. I knew names of places, but had no idea exactly where they were. Heck, I probably wouldn't have been able to tell you that Kansas was next to Colorado. Maybe I should be more embarrassed about that, but I'm just being real.

Now though, I'm so excited about how places have become more defined and real in my brain. It's so fun to see the Pacific Northwest and to learn more about Washington, town by town, highway by highway.
