Last week my drive continued over Eastern Washington,
through the Cascades,
and into Puyallup, close to the base of Mt Rainier.
So it's been a week since I've been in Washington. Work started off with a couple days of orientation, then one day on the unit. The staff seem okay to work with, and it's a nice hospital. Kind of a bummer, but my schedule shows that I work every weekend, whether it's the whole thing, or just one-two shifts, there's not one weekend in the next two months that I don't work. Lame. I'm going to see if I can switch some of them..
Here's some pics from my new apartment:
My bedroom isn't small, as much as the furniture is huge. The frame itself is large, then the box spring and pillow top mattress require a small hop in order for me to get in bed. As it is rental furniture, the mattress is wrapped in plastic, creating a rustling sound that suggests I'm sleeping on a diaper. The thing I'm grateful for is that despite the plastic and height, it's a very comfortable bed.
I didn't get a TV, so I shifted the furniture around to focus on the fire place, which I am so excited to have for these early winter months!
On the second floor with a balcony overlooking the garden and pond.
Small kitchen, but works just fine, now that the maintenance man fixed the broken fridge. This view is taken from the pass through that connects to the dining room.
Probably the scariest dumpster I've ever had to use..
My favorite part about living over here in the left hand corner? Being near Matt and Cyndi :) I joined them Monday night for dinner, and I'm at their house again tonight. Matt and I are planning on hiking part of Mt Rainier tomorrow. I'm so excited to spend the day outside, even though they're calling for rain below 10,000 feet... For the next 6 months..
