Colorado Sojourner

In appropriate Indiana County fashion, I enjoyed my last day in PA at a festival at Twin Lakes.

Jocelyn took me to the airport at 330am and I left PA at 7am. Because of the time difference, I landed in Denver at 8am. I got to my car, which thankfully was still intact and fully functional, then moved in to my apartment.

The place I'm renting is a condo owned by a temporary housing company.  The place is furnished, decorated, has kitchenware, cable and internet. It's on the second floor and I have a nice little balcony.

Pictures will come soon.. I've been dragging my feet moving everything in. It's defeating, carrying everything up stairs and unpacking only to know I could potentially be doing the reverse in 3 months.

So, to distract myself from the boxes of stuff and piles of clothes strewn about my apartment, I took to walking around and exploring Lakewood.

It's not easy being here alone, but the excitement of a new place is helpfully distracting. Especially when it's this beautiful.

After work today I went for a walk and found a nice hill that I can stand on and see the Front Range transition into the plains. It's quite dramatic and pretty.

This has been one of the best orientations I've attended, even though it's a drag to review hand washing and body mechanics for the umpteenth time. They just built this new hospital a year ago and it's tailored to the staff. Really smart and fancy-like.

I hope I like it here :)
