Las Vegas.

After working three days in a row, it came. Our trip to Vegas..

We left shortly after work, around 8pm. And it took us just under 4.5 hrs to get there. We found the hotel, Bill's Gamblin' Hall, on the main strip, Las Vegas Blvd.

Kate is in the middle. She is the nurse from Pittsburgh that planned on meeting up with us in San Francisco, but had an accident and tore her ACL. Prior to the incident, Kate was a mad rugby player. This weekend she was in Vegas for a huge rugby convention.  We were in Vegas to see the sites, and enjoy a weekend with our friend.

Like I said, we got there late, so we ended up going to our room and staying up even later talking and laughing.

The next day we woke up and got ready to walk along the strip, which is the main street in Las Vegas. We ran in to people the whole weekend that were such characters, but mostly friendly and also there just to have a blast.

These are the bejeweled hands of two ladies we ran into in the hallway.  They were from the Southeast and were in Vegas to sell jewelry. The one just about had me ready to purchase a big costume ring then she slammed me with a very high price, which I unfortunately had to refuse.
Once we got outside the sunshine and fervor of Vegas hit us. Everyone there has a huge smile..and usually a drink in their hand..

Ashley got all of us our first round of beers. It was kind of fun to walk around outside, just drinking and site seeing.  Because of her crutches, Kate couldn't hold her beer, so Ashley ended up bottle feeding her most of the time when we were walking.

There is so much to see in Vegas.  We didn't even get close.

Almost each hotel is famous for something, has a casino, restaurants, and a night club.

The Bellagio is known for a water feature called the Bellagio Fountains, in which these fountains go off in time with music. There is a show every hour on the hour. I could've watched this all day.

Here's a short video.

More pictures from different shows.

 The Cosmopolitan.

Once we wore ourselves out walking through these lavish hotels, we stopped for a lunch and drinks on the patio of a restaurant.

I love all of the flash and lights of Vegas.  It's totally different at night.

We went back to our hotel room for a nap, then got ready for a night out in Vegas.

I don't believe I've officially introduced Tanya yet.  This lovely lady is from Michigan. She is also a traveler at Woodland Hills, and works night shift in the ICU. Luckily for us, she came to Vegas this weekend, and made it even more fun!

We got to the Palms, via cab ride, and the girls started playing slots.

There was an amazing view from the Palms

When they were done gamblin' we went to one of the night clubs in the top floor of the Palms.

We had so much fun, dancing and enjoying the view.  We met people from all over the world, who were there for the weekend, or fo lyfe.

Around 3am we started to get tired.  We caught a cab back to the hotel, got into some comfier clothes, then walked to Denny's for some nourishment.

We went to bed after 5am.

A few hours passed and I was wide awake, and ready for day 2.

teethbrushing dance party.

We walked around all day, looking at different hotels/casinos and sites

We got appetizers and drinks at this great roof top bar in Paris. It was lovely.

The reception area at the Paris hotel.

Tanya and I caved and bought these gimmicky Eiffel Tower drinks ^ They were huge and supposed to be strawberry margaritas but really just tasted like red syrup.  We tried to drink them, but once we got to the base of the Eiffel Tower, we both felt ill.

They were handing out mardi gras beads like crazy in Paris. Ashley tried to be like Pokemon and collect them all.  She also tried to finish one of our drinks, but couldn't take more than a few sips of red dye and cheap tequila.

Night started to fall and we went back to our hotel to get ready for dinner.

We met up with the group of Rugby players from Pittsburgh for dinner at the famous, Golden Steer. We had steak and great conversation.  One of the girls on the team had invited her dad and uncle, who love gamblin' in Vegas, to come on the trip with them.  They generously paid for the entire dinner. We were cutting it close to get to our next event, so the dad and uncle offered to get us a cab.  The group split up and half of the people went in the first cab.  Then the hostess of the restaurant came up to us and offered their limo for the second half of the group. For free.

Maybe my response as I jumped and said, "we'll take it!" was a little over zealous, but I've never ridden in a limo before.  Let alone in Vegas. For free.

There were only four of us left that got to ride in the limo. We were laughing and enjoying every second of driving down the strip.

We arrived in New York, New York, for Cirque Du Soleil. The show was amazing, and a lot of fun.

After the show, we grabbed a drink in New York, then hailed a cab to the Bellagio.

This is where the group split up. Some stayed at a bar in the Bellagio, some went to a night club in another area, and Tanya and I went to the night club in the Bellagio.

We didn't stay very long. It was super crowded and hot. The only thing I liked was right above the dance floor they had these air compressors. Every once in a while they would blast us with cold air, mixed with water, which as you may or may not know makes... SNOW. People went crazy when this happened. It was so cool. Were were dancing, then all of the sudden we'd hear a loud rushing sound and it we were blasted by this cold wind followed by white flakes of artificial snow.

When we were done with the club, Tanya and I met up with the rest of the people at the bar.  We ended up staying awake all night just talking and joking with a bunch of rugby players from Pittsburgh. When we walked into the hotel room at 6am, Ashley woke up  ready to leave for LA. She let us get at least two hours of sleep, then we got up, packed, and hit the road.

At least Tanya got to sleep.

What a great weekend.
