Corrections and Addendums to Day 3

This will be a brief post correcting some errors I made in my post yesterday, and adding a few things that my mom reminded me of.

Firstly, I mentioned that The Midpoint cafe was half-way between the east and the west coast. Weelll it's actually only half way of Route 66, which runs from Chicago, IL to Los Angeles, CA, not the continental US.

PW wanted me to mention that we too had written our names on the old Ford truck at the Midpoint of Route 66.  I chose a spot on the bed of the truck which turned out to be an awkward angle to write from, but hadn't any other marks.  PW wrote above the rear R tire.

Oklahoma and Texas has a lot of windmills.  Did I mention that already?  I liked calling them windmill farms, because that's what they looked like.  Rows of windmills in a field.

The houses in this part of Texas are few and far between.  When you do come across a home it's all alone but completely surrounded by trees, like it's tucked away to maintain privacy and isolation ..or to keep it cool in the summer.. either way.. I liked it.

Last addition.. some of the rest areas in Texas have tornado shelters.  Weird, huh?

tha's all..
